Asmaa Aman-Tran of Hand & Fiber
At a September SOWA Open Market, my booth was set up adjacent to Asmaa Aman-Tran, the creative of Hand & Fiber. Asmaa is a local Boston fiber artist and ceramicist. Her work, all handmade by her and all one-of-a-kind, reflects a culturally rich upbringing in Casablanca, Morocco. From evil eyes to macrame, Asmaa interweaves contrasting materials with traditional techniques and motifs that emerge as beautiful contemporary pieces for your body and home.
I have one of Asmaa's evil eyes in my entryway protecting my apartment from unwanted visitors, both physical and abstract. Below are some of my favorite pieces. I hope to run into Asmaa at another market in hopes of picking up some new pieces for the new studio I am moving into in December. Check out her website here and shop here.
